Dipl.-Ing. Merkur Alimusaj

Merkur Alimusaj completed an apprenticeship in prosthetics and orthotics in 1999 and worked until 2005 at several P&O clinics. In 2006 he additionally received his degree as an engineer in rehabilitation techniques at the University of Applied Science in Giessen (Hessen, Germany). He worked since 2005 at the Heidelberg Motion Lab and he is guiding since that time several studies in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. He turned out to be the head of the prosthetics and orthotics department at the University Hospital Heidelberg in 2008 with now more than 90 employed P&Os and CPOs. His research interests are movement analysis in orthotics and prosthetics, Influence of assistive devices in daily living and Control mechanisms in prosthetics. Merkur Alimusaj is author and co-author of several national and international scientific publications and (co-)author of several book contributions.
Aurélie Lacroix, Dipl. Ing., CPO
Clinical Studies Manager Otto Bock France — Nancy (France)
Aurélie Lacroix is an engineer and CPO, working for the Market Access and Clinical Studies department of Ottobock France. She started working as a CPO in a Rehabilitation Center in Nancy, France, in 1998. Between 2004 and 2009, she joined the International Committee of the Red Cross as a Project Manager for different missions in Asia, Middle East and Africa. After graduating as an engineer, she joined Ottobock France in 2011, where she is responsible for writing and submitting dossiers to claim for the reimbursement of Ottobock products in France. She also plans and conduct clinical studies in order to highlight the clinical benefits of patients fitted with Ottobock products and support the reimbursement dossiers.

Dr. Ayache is a Neurologist and Neurophysiologist as well as a Director of the EEG unit at the Neurophysiology department at Henri Mondor Hospital. Additionally, she serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Neurophysiology at Paris Est University and as an Adjunct Professor of Neurology at Lebanese American University. Beyond her clinical roles, Dr. Ayache is Vice President of Institut de la Colonne Vertébrale et des NeuroSciences in Paris. With over 15 years of specialized experience in Noninvasive Brain Stimulation techniques, Dr. Ayache has made significant contributions to the field. She is the author of over one hundred peer-reviewed scientific publications and has delivered more than sixty invited lectures and conference papers. Dr. Ayache's expertise is further demonstrated by her editorial roles; she has served as a guest editor for five special topics in international journals and as an associate editor and editorial board member for several prestigious publications. Her research focuses on the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying multiple sclerosis manifestations, pain syndromes, movement disorders, and the optimization of noninvasive brain stimulation effects. Dr. Ayache's work has garnered considerable attention, as evidenced by her impressive H index of 35 and over 7,936 citations.

Dr. Naji Riachi is Professor of Neurology at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, New York, and Vice Chair of Neurology at Northwell Abu Dhabi. He was Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurology at the Lebanese American University (LAU) in Lebanon, and Assistant Dean for Clinical Research at the LAU Gilbert and Rosemary Chagoury School of Medicine, before moving to the UAE, where he was a Consultant Neurologist at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, and Clerkship Director of Neurology and Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs at Khalifa University, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, in Abu Dhabi. He just recently joined the Souhel Najjar Neurosciences Center at Burjeel Medical City Hospital in Abu Dhabi as Medical Director, and Director of the Epilepsy Services. His areas of expertise include epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, headache and cognition. In addition to his busy outpatient practice with over 24,000 patients, he remained involved in teaching, built the laboratories of neurophysiology and the epilepsy monitoring unit, was the coordinator of the Neurosciences Module for LAU Med II students, developed a 4-week Neurology Clerkship for Med III students at LAU Medical Center, created the residency training program in Neurology at LAU, and was previously the co-director of the Lebanese University Neurology Residency Program. Dr. Riachi secured several donations and grants to conduct his research work, which is now focused on neurostimulation. He has been involved in several clinical studies, and has given more than 300 lectures locally, regionally and internationally. He is an editorial board member of several leading journals, and the author of many peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.
