Help for people in crisis areas

The war in Ukraine, the aftermath of the earthquake in Turkey and the devastating situation in the Gaza Strip are currently affecting thousands of innocent people. Countless injured people depend on medical technology devices. Together, Ottobock and the Ottobock Global Foundation are doing their utmost to expand the orthopaedic technology infrastructure in crisis areas and to provide as many disabled persons as possible with prostheses, orthoses and wheelchairs.

The Company history of Ottobock

The second generation

Dr Max and Maria Näder

Starting with almost nothing in 1947, Otto Bock's son-in-law and his wife built up the location in Duderstadt. Initially a branch, the site is now the company's headquarters. This is where Max Näder developed milestones in orthopaedic technology.

The third generation

Professor Hans Georg Näder

The grandson of the company's founder, Professor Näder took over the company in 1990 at the age of 28. He considers himself a global citizen, and Ottobock has become the market leader for prostheses under his visionary leadership.
