The patented principle of rotation hydraulics already familiar from the 3R80 prosthetic knee joint is also used in a modified form in the 3S80 Sport. The 3S80 offers optimal swing phase control for running along with extension damping throughout the entire extension movement, which ensures harmonious extension even at high stride rates. The larger flexion angle for jogging and sprinting is precisely controlled by flexion damping. Flexion and extension damping are individually and independently adjustable. The 3S80 also features a manual lock.

Een sportkniescharnier moet tegen de hoge belastingen bestand zijn die tijdens het lopen ontstaan en op de prothese werken. Het bekende en gepatenteerde principe van de rotatiehydrauliek wordt ook bij de 3S80 Sport in aangepaste vorm toegepast. Verder beschikt het scharnier over een handmatige blokkering. De 3S80 Sport is compact en robuust en voor alle loopsport geoptimaliseerd.
In flexierichting zwaait de onderbeenprothese tot een buighoek van ca. 60° vrij door. Voor een harmonische extensieaanslag ook bij hoge stapfrequentie zorgt een extensiedemping gedurende de volledige strekbeweging, die sterk stijgt net voordat de eindstand wordt bereikt. Flexie- en extensiedemping zijn individueel en los van elkaar instelbaar.
