Materials Product Segment
In the Materials product segment, we consider ourselves a problem-solver and advisor in matters related to the practical application of various supplies and high-tech materials for the fabrication of medical technology products. We continuously develop our materials, first and foremost to meet the needs of users and patients, but also increasingly to comply with constantly changing legal requirements. In addition to mechanical and chemical characteristics, the biological compatibility of materials is especially important. Our top priority is for the quality and safety of our materials.
In order to offer solutions for a wide variety of orthopaedic technology problems, we carry a range of innovative and proven materials that have been selected with great care based on practical fitting experience. The interplay of materials science and processing techniques reveals new insights step by step and therefore guarantees the consistent development and enhancement of orthopaedic technology materials. In addition to our product range, which has been tried and tested over the course of many years, we develop innovative materials and practical solutions in cooperation with engineers and O&P professionals. We effectively encourage this cooperation that provides the opportunity for an exchange of experiences and mutual support. New possibilities are identified and practical processing techniques emerge. As a result, high-quality Ottobock products feature excellent processing characteristics.

Using Chemicals Safely
Your concern
The first and most important step in the safe use of chemicals is being aware of their identity, the associated risks to health and the environment and the means to control these risks. This inherently complex knowledge must be organised so that essential information on hazards and the corresponding protective measures can be identified and communicated to the user in a readily comprehensible manner.
The Ottobock solution
As a global player, we are committed to safeguarding and protecting the health of people and the environment in which we work. Working together with us, you make safety, environmental protection and health integral aspects of the production, sale and use of our products. Hazardous Ottobock substances are accompanied by safety data sheets (SDS). These safety data sheets contain information such as physical data, health risks, first aid measures, storage, disposal, protective equipment, etc. Ottobock can provide you with safety data sheets in your language and country-specific version for all hazardous materials.
Advantages for you
We offer you absolute reliability, safety and guaranteed availability. Safety data sheets provided in electronic form comply with the right-to-know provisions for immediate access to risk information around the clock. Use the safety data sheets database on the Ottobock website, which we regularly update for you. You receive all information from a single source.
Complete range for every requirement: Ottobock lamination resins
How do the various Ottobock resin systems differ and what are the best applications for each product?
Ottobock lamination resins were developed especially for the lamination technique and, in combination with our proven reinforcement materials, facilitate treatments of the highest quality in prosthetics and orthotics. Lamination resins feature high strength with low weight and dimensional stability with low wall thickness. Acrylic, epoxy and vinyl ester resins are particularly well suited for use in orthopaedic technology.
Our processing videos as well as the poster show you optimal application cases, the correct mixing ratio and the classification of Ottobock resin systems.
