Kenevo
Walking with a prosthesis for the first time means building up confidence step by step. This also applies if you use other devices or generally do not move about much. You become more flexible and independent only when your confidence in the prosthesis grows.
Walking with a prosthesis for the first time means building up confidence step by step. This also applies if you use other devices or generally do not move about much. You become more flexible and independent only when your confidence in the prosthesis grows.
The Kenevo puts a focus on safety. It provides support in typical everyday situations with its basic functions. Moreover, the activity modes make it highly adaptable. The Kenevo keeps pace with your growing skills, for instance during rehabilitation, and adapts itself to decreasing mobility equally well.
The new Kenevo features new functions that make day-to-day life easier and richer. They include the intuitive assisted descent of ramps and the use of an indoor bicycle (static bike). The prosthesis is easier to put on and it can be charged without removing the foam cover. The knee joint can be configured using a smartphone with the Cockpit app.

Stability in every step
Kenevo automatically detects when you sit down and assists you. Even if your movement is slow, you stay in control, because the resistance in the MPK bends adapts to your movement. This feature helps makes the Kenevo very stable and an ideal primary prosthesis.
Kenevo provides the greatest saftey possible while standing, regardless of the selected activity mode. In activity modes A and B, safety is provided by the locked stance phase. Stance phase is the time when your prosthetic foot is in contact with the floor. In the more dynamic activity mode C, stable standing is possible even with the knee flexed, thanks to the intuitive stance feature.
Thanks to additional ground clearance, Kenevo allows sitting in a wheelchair. With only one hand movement, the prosthetic knee joint can be locked. This not only prevents the MPK from getting caught on the ground while seated, but providies users with additional stability for added safety when standing.
Carpet edges, curbs or other tripping hazards are no longer an obstacle with Kenevo. Kenevo has various safety features which are proven to reduce falls, including Stumble Recovery Plus. Covering the entire swing phase, this provides the highest level of safety possible. The difference between a stumble and fall can take milliseconds, and unlike other MPKs, the Kenevo does not need to detect a stumble in order to provide additional support. Instead, the knee is already prepared on every swing phase for a stumble, meaning there is no reaction time and the risk is reduced even further. If a stumble was to occur as the knee is extending, the stance resistance is already very high preventing the knee from bending further when you land.
Kenevo provides intuitive support while walking down ramps. As you bend the knee the resistance increases to support and control your descent. This improves stability and can support your mobility, both indoors and out.
Want to be more active, now you can easily increase your activity with the new intuitive cycling mode on the Kenevo. The resistance in the MPK automatically adapts as soon as you begin cycling on an indoor bicycle ensuring a seamless experience. Then, once you’re done, the MPK switches back automatically when you step off the bike – convenience at its finest!
The new training feedback function means physiotherapists can gain valuable insights into their patients movement execution, enabling tailored tips and guidance during therapy sessions. Through the Kenevo ABC app and Cockpit connect app, acoustic signals can be selected for some, or all of each patients selected movement patterns. The Kenevo will then make a sound to notify that a patient has performed the movement correctly.
The Kenevo can now be charged conveniently without removing it's foam cover. In addition, the donning function allows you to put on the prosthesis while seated. In Mode A, B and B+ the Kenevo is locked in the stance phase. To allow the Kenevo to bend easily, we have added the donning function. When the charger is disconnected, it is possible to flex the knee once with minimal resistance. In Mode C it is already possible to bend the knee against the resistance which is always present in the knee. This makes day-to-day life easier and leaves more time for important things.
Kenevo now supports users up to 150 kg! Meaning even more people can benefit from the proven stability and innovative technology of the MPK!
Kenevo users move forward with confidence
Robert feels confident with his Kenevo
Robert enjoys the simple but important things in his life. Being able to plan his day, make breakfast or enjoy the afternoon in the garden. His Kenevo gives him support with adjusting to new situations and mastering everyday challenges.
Günter loves his hobby
Günter has loved classic cars since his young age. After his amputation, he knew he didn't want to give it up. With the Kenevo, he feels stable and secure, which enables him to enjoy his everyday life and follow his passion for cars.
Detlef found his new normal
Detlef loves taking regular walks and watching his grandson play football. He was concerned that he might have trouble recovering after his amputation, but with the Kenevo microprocessor knee, he feels safe and secure with every step.
The Kenevo kept Michael moving
Michael used the Kenevo to make the most of his therapy and rehabilitation. It took some time for him to trust the knee joint, but he worked with his physiotherapist and learned to navigate stairs, uneven surfaces, and more before switching to a Genium X3.
Markus uses Kenevo to help his patients
Physical therapist Markus says, “The Kenevo is ideal for rehabilitation because I can let the knee joint grow with the patient. Thanks to its three activity modes, it supports the patient and their needs on a completely individual basis.”
The Kenevo gives Christian’s patients confidence
As a prosthetist, Christian trusts Kenevo to help his patients recover. “Safety is the most important thing for the patient directly after amputation. The patient has to be confident that they can rely on the prosthesis.”
Bob built everyday confidence
Whether he’s indulging in his passion for cars, mowing the lawn, or just planning out his day, Bob wants to know his knee will keep him safe and stable at all times. The Kenevo provides the reliable safety Bob needs to stay as independent as possible.
3 activity modes to suit changing needs
Grows with every user
The Kenevo has three activity modes, giving it an extraordinary ability to adapt to your individual needs and developing skills, for example, during rehabilitation. Your physiotherapust can adjust the appropriate activity mode for you on via the Kenevo ABC mobile app.
Mode A: Locked Mode
The Kenevo is locked and does not initiate swing phase. Mode A provides a high level of safety and doesn’t allow unexpected movements.
Best for: Users who have little control over their residual limb, primarily walk only short distances indoors, and spend most of their time sitting.
Mode B: Semi Locked Mode without stance phase flexion
The Kenevo is locked during the entire stance phase but unlocks when the user initates the movement of their leg for the swing phase. Regardless of gait pattern or additional walking aids, the Kenevo always initiates the swing phase at the right time.
Best for: Users who have moderate control of their residual limb, cover short distances, and walk slowly.
Mode B+: Semi Locked Mode with stance phase flexion
Same as mode B, but with the addition of stance phase flexion at heel strike of up to 10° for walking on moderate slopes. As soon as the user’s heel hits the ground, the knee bends slightly, resulting in a movement that looks and feels more natural.
Best for: Users who have built enough confidence in their prosthesis to walk with stance phase flexion.
Mode C: Yielding Mode
The stance phase is not locked but has high resistance. This enables the swing phase to be initiated earlier for more dynamic movements — and supports more natural walking with the same high level of safety on level ground, slopes, and stairs.
Best for: Users who have moderate control of their residual limb, can navigate various everyday mobility scenarios, and are comfortable covering short-to-medium walking distances outdoors.
